The impact of social media on the mental health of adolescents

Abstract. This article examines the impact of social media on the mental health and social well-being of adolescents. It analyzes both negative aspects associated with increased anxiety, depression, cyberbullying, and sleep disturbances, as well as positive effects such as the development of socialization, self-expression, and access to educational resources. Particular attention is paid to practical recommendations for minimizing the negative impact of social media. This work is based on contemporary domestic and international research and aims to raise awareness of the risks and opportunities of the digital space for adolescents.
