Characteristics of teaching biotechnology and psychological barriers in students’ learning new materials

Abstract. This article presents a review of materials devoted to current issues in teaching biotechnology. Particular attention is paid to challenges such as the interdisciplinary nature and conceptual complexity of the material being studied, information overload, psychological barriers, including fear of the apparent incomprehensibility of the subject, motivational difficulties, resistance to innovative approaches, and lack of confidence in one’s own competencies. Based on an analysis of scientific publications, specific recommendations are proposed for overcoming these barriers and improving the effectiveness of the educational process in biotechnology.
