Abstract. Ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by the Republic of Uzbekistan requires a fundamental revision of the existing education system in Uzbekistan with an emphasis on implementing the principle of accessibility to general educational institutions at all levels for individuals with disabilities. Inclusive education is one of the global approaches to implementing the principle of accessibility in the educational process for individuals with disabilities. This article examines the current situation of inclusive education in higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, analyzes successes and achievements in this area, identifies problems and barriers hindering the effective implementation of inclusion in higher education, and develops recommendations for the comprehensive and effective development of inclusive education in higher education institutions.
