Abstract. The article is devoted to the culture of hospitality in Uzbek society, which is viewed as a social norm and an element of national identity formed under the influence of centuries‑old traditions. The symbolic significance of Uzbek customs for receiving guests and their role in strengthening social ties are analysed.
The aim of the scientific article is to analyse the social practice of Uzbek hospitality as a synthesis of national traditions and Islamic ethics. The historical and cultural prerequisites for the formation of hospitality in Uzbek society are examined, and the points of convergence and mutual complementarity of national traditions and religious precepts are analysed. Special attention is paid to the Islamic ethics of hospitality based on the Quran, hadiths, and the works of Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf. The main principles are highlighted: sincerity of intentions, moderation, respectful treatment of the guest, and the inadmissibility of ostentatious luxury.
The harmonious interconnection of national traditions and religious precepts, their mutual complementarity, and their practical implementation in everyday life are demonstrated. Modern transformations of hospitality are examined. The necessity of preserving traditions while adhering to the principles of moderation, sincerity, and moral responsibility is substantiated.
