The impact of family environment and psychological principles on children’s learning

Abstract. The family plays a fundamental role in the educational process, exerting a profound and multifaceted influence on a child’s development. The family environment is the first and most significant social institution, shaping personality, values, and attitudes, which subsequently determine success and achievement in education.

The influence of the family environment on children’s psychological development cannot be overstated. A harmonious and supportive family atmosphere promotes healthy self-esteem, self-confidence, and emotional stability. Children raised in such an environment are more resilient to stress, adapt better to new situations, and learn more easily. Conversely, a dysfunctional family environment, characterized by conflict, violence, or a lack of attention to the child’s needs, can lead to serious psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, and aggressive behavior.

Parental relationships also have a direct impact on children’s academic performance. Parental support, interest in academic achievement, and active involvement in the educational process motivate children to learn and improve their academic performance. Research shows that children whose parents regularly communicate with teachers, help them with homework, and create a positive learning environment at home demonstrate higher academic performance and learn better.
