Abstract. This thesis examines the role of education in the formation of human capital in modern society. In the 21st century, human capital is considered a key resource for a country’s socioeconomic development, encompassing not only educational attainment and professional skills, but also values, motivation for learning, work ethic, and social activity. One of the most important mechanisms for developing these qualities is the process of education, which takes place in the family, educational institutions, and the broader social context.
The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of education on the development of human capital and identify current challenges and prospects in this area. The paper examines various theoretical approaches to the concept of human capital, analyzes the pedagogical and sociological aspects of education, and presents examples of effective practices from national and international experience.
The research methodology includes an analysis of scientific literature, comparative and systemic approaches, and a content analysis of regulatory documents and educational programs. As a result, key factors influencing the quality of the educational process and its role in the development of sustainable personal and professional qualities were identified.
These findings confirm the need to rethink the role of education in the education system, strengthen teacher training, develop educational programs, and actively engage families, schools, and communities. This work may be useful for educators, sociologists, psychologists, and education policymakers.
